WASHINGTON – Republicans are hard at work on their plan to provide a historic tax cut to middle-class families that will kickstart our economy and create jobs. But instead of working with Republicans to provide tax relief to Americans, Senate Democrats have once again chosen a path of obstruction.
Senate Democrats, led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, are already hard at work to defeat tax relief, even before a bill has been introduced in the Senate. If red state Democrats choose to follow Schumer in his obstruction, they will be forced to explain why they blindly opposed a bill that will put more cash in their constituents’ pockets. 2018 voters will remember whether their Senator voted to cut their taxes or instead chose to stand with Schumer and Washington Democrats in their fight to keep taxes and spending high.
“Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats are once again choosing obstruction instead of doing what’s right for American families,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “If red state Democrats decide to follow Chuck Schumer instead of giving middle-class families a tax cut, they will find themselves in the unemployment line in 2019.”
