WASHINGTON – Senate Republicans are united in their commitment to providing American families and businesses the tax relief they want and deserve, but the same can’t be said for Senate Democrats, who are preparing to do whatever’s necessary to keep higher taxes in place.
West Virginia’s Joe Manchin and Wisconsin’s Tammy Baldwin have already partnered with Chuck Schumer to reject Republican efforts to let middle-class families keep more of their hard-earned money, and provide businesses with the competitive tax rates they need to create good-paying jobs. With the 2018 election looming, voters deserve to know if the remaining red state Democrats will be joining Schumer, Manchin, and Baldwin in their partisan quest to deny middle-class Americans the tax relief they need to achieve the American Dream.
“Red state Democrats are going to face the music next November if they reject Republican efforts to cut taxes for the middle class, expand job opportunities, and grow the economy,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “American families and businesses are tired of footing the bill for Senate Democrats’ mindless obstruction and insistence on maintaining the failed status quo.”
