According to a recent poll, 67% of Missouri voters want to see Judge Kavanaugh confirmed. But McCaskill also has to consider her far-left base, who want the Senator to stop at nothing to oppose his nomination.
With the midterm election two months away, McCaskill is stuck between appeasing the liberal base she needs to win reelection and turning her back on a majority of Missourians who want Judge Kavanaugh confirmed. Either way, she’s going to upset a major voting bloc she can’t afford to lose.
