Washington, D.C. – “When we don’t hold our people accountable, they [the rest of the world] wonder why they should follow us and our judgment.”  — Joe Biden in 2006.

Those comments from the future president were regarding the Iraq War and then-Sen. Biden’s call for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to be fired as a sign to the world that America holds its leaders accountable.

Fast forward to 2021 and the surrender and botched withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, and there has been zero accountability in the Biden White House. Making the Administration look less competent, it was reported that when the withdrawal began and the Taliban began to take over the country, President Biden was vacationing at Camp David and Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in the Hamptons.

Shortly after Kabul’s fall, 13 U.S. service members and dozens of Afghans were killed in suicide bombings outside of the city’s airport, adding to the countless tragic images coming out of Afghanistan. Yet, no one has been held accountable. Not one person has been fired.

Meanwhile, Democrats in the Senate have not demanded the same accountability that President Biden did 15 years ago. Instead, they’re worried about the politics, offering weak platitudes to distance themselves from President Biden instead of concrete accountability. Will Democrat Senators like Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Bennet step up and hold this Administration accountable?
