When liberal Democrat Bill Nelson voted for President Obama’s $1.76 healthcare law, it not only stripped $500 billion from Medicare but it also hit the medical device industry with a new job-killing tax. Gary Haberland, the CEO of Winter Haven’s Genicon said that medical device manufacturers will ultimately pass this job-killing tax to their consumers and that means higher healthcare costs for Floridians. Nonetheless Folks Still Think Of Bill Nelson As An Empty Suit In 1978, Bill Nelson ran for the House of Representatives on a platform of bringing a new direction to Congress and 34 years later he’s still uttering the same rhetoric.  Today he delivered a speech unveiling what he would like to accomplish in Washington. Nelson claims he wants to balance the budget and gut the wasteful spending in Washington.  Yet just last year he voted against a balanced budget amendment. Nelson & Fellow Senate Budget Committee Democrats Once Again Shut Down Budget Process As a candidate for the Senate in 2000 and again for re-election in 2006, Bill Nelson repeatedly invoked the mantra of fiscal responsibility and stressed the importance of a “pay-as-you-go” system. After campaigning with Barack Obama in Miami in support of the Buffet Tax, liberal Democrat Bill Nelson is bringing his campaign to the Panhandle.  During this stop, Nelson will inevitably blame oil speculators for high gas prices.  This is familiar rhetoric for Floridians; since 2005, Nelson has been telling them that speculators are the reason for record high gas prices, which according to economists is factually inaccurate.
