Three-time Tampa Bay Times ‘loser of the week’ Patrick Murphy is getting air support from Harry Reid’s Super PAC as he limps toward his August 30 showdown with Alan Grayson.
As Privileged Patrick attempts to shore up his left flank, the ad claims that Murphy has “fought to strengthen Medicare and Social Security.”
That’s a convenient rewriting of history. Murphy advocated “across the board” “structural reforms” to Social Security before he found himself in a contested primary.

Murphy’s super PAC bailout is a sure sign of a campaign on the ropes. Nearly a month after CBS Miami shredded him for falsifying and embellishing his entire resume, Murphy still hasn’t recovered – and now his friends in Washington are forced to open the checkbook to prop him up with a million-dollar ad buy.
With the bad press continuing to pile up for Privileged Patrick, it’s not the last bailout Murphy will need just to get to the finish line.
