Here’s one part of his resume Patrick Murphy doesn’t have to inflate: the Tampa Bay Times just named him ‘loser of the week.’

For the third time. In less than two months.

This time Murphy was busted attempting to delay the announcement of relief funds for small businesses affected by an environmental crisis in Murphy’s congressional district.

This was supposed to be Patrick Murphy’s moment to show his green credentials with a lagoon rally in D.C. But all of sudden, those efforts turned into bad publicity for the Democrat running for the U.S. Senate.

But just the day before, reports surfaced that a Murphy aide asked the federal Small Business Administration in an email to delay announcing relief for businesses impacted by the algae. That would allow Murphy to break the news during his Thursday news conference.

Murphy hasn’t caught a break in recent weeks.

He’s faced an avalanche of bad headlines after reports that he embellished his resumé and credentials as a certified public accountant and about his links to his campaign donors who benefitted from a bill he co-sponsored.

In the middle of a crisis that warranted a state of emergency declaration from the governor, Murphy jetted off to Nantucket to spend a long weekend on the family yacht.

And when it was time to provide relief to small businesses suffering while Murphy was on vacation, Privileged Patrick only wanted to make sure he could take credit.

Keep an eye out for the next email from Murphy associates asking what’s so wrong about delaying a critical funding announcement so a privileged senate candidate whose father has handed him everything he ever wanted could take credit for it.
