Catherine Cortez Masto has spent months trying to avoid answering questions about her party’s toxic presidential nominee (despite her support for stacking the deck against Bernie Sanders at her party’s state convention).
Cortez Masto’s coronation as her party’s Senate nominee is official, but her inability to answer a simple question about the top of the ticket is the same as ever.
Pressed multiple times to offer a response about whether the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton concerned her at all, Cortez Masto stuck closely to the Five D’s of Dodgeball, and finally offered the explanation that “[Clinton] is not a racist” and then punted again when forced to respond.
"Cortez Masto (third try), a former attorney general, went the furthest, and finally said after saying unlike Trump ‘she is not a racist’ and so on: ‘She’s already come out and said she used poor judgment. She did use poor judgment.’" (Jon Ralston, "Democrats Are Unified…In Dodging Questions About Hillary And Email Probe," Ralston Reports, 6/15/16)
In other words, Nevada’s former top law enforcement official won’t muster up a response about whether a likely criminal investigation by the FBI of her party’s nominee – a candidate Cortez Masto has endorsed – even raises an eyebrow.
Shocking as it might be, but it appears that Harry Reid’s handpicked successor might be nothing more than a partisan crony who puts politics first. Imagine that.
