According to reports, the “historically large” rate hikes will result in nearly 100,000 Coloradans losing their health coverage this fall.
That’s a far cry from what Michael Bennet promised when he campaigned for Obamacare:
“We should begin with the basic principle: if you have coverage and you like it, you can keep it…We will not take those choices away from you.”
Obamacare “will lower premiums and the cost of health insurance coverage.”
Unfortunately for Coloradans, here’s the reality:

BENNET: “We should begin with a basic principle: if you have coverage and you like it, you can keep it. If you have your doctor, and you like him or her, you should be able to keep them, as well. We will not take those choices away from you.” (Sen. Michael Bennet, Congressional Record, 6/11/09, p. S6488)
In October 2009, Michael Bennet Said Obamacare “Will Lower Premiums And The Cost Of Health Insurance Coverage.” BENNET: “Health care reform done right is going to make an enormous difference for small businesses and for the people employed by small businesses. It will lower premiums and the cost of health insurance coverage; provide tax credits for small businesses that provide health insurance –that do the right thing; exempt most small businesses from employer responsibility requirements; subsidize health insurance for employees in small businesses that do not provide health insurance; increase entrepreneurship to expand the pool of workers available to small businesses; and eliminate job lock. Job lock means having to stay in a job because you are so scared of losing your insurance.” (Sen. Michael Bennet, Congressional Record, 10/15/09, p. S10452)
