Yesterday a group of Montana business organizations sent a letter to Jon Tester asking him to oppose the nomination of Julie Su for Secretary of Labor.

Montanans are rightfully alarmed at Su’s anti-small business record:

  • She supported a California law (A.B.5) that would require independent contractors, such as delivery and ride-sharing drivers, to become employees of the companies they’re working for. Su also supports the PRO Act, the national version of this bill.
  • Su supported a California bill, the FAST Recovery Act, that would give government appointees authority to create industry-wide standards for franchised restaurants throughout California, including setting wages and working hours, among other decisions.

NRSC Statement: “Jon Tester voted for Julie Su before. Will he listen to Montana small businesses and oppose her nomination this time around?” — NRSC Spokeswoman Maggie Abboud
