In two days, the 11:00 AM case hearing in "Defendant Duckworth’s" lawsuit for improperly firing and silencing courageous VA whistleblowers will take place at the Union County Courthouse, courtroom 1:
-
On September 17, 2009, Christine Butler And Denise Goins, IDVA Staffers, Filed An Amended Lawsuit Alleging Duckworth And Patricia Simms Threatened And Harassed The Two Employees For Filing Complaints Against Simms. “The suit stems from Duckworth’s time at the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, which she led from December 2006 until early 2009, when she left for a federal veterans affairs post under President Barack Obama. In the suit, two workers at the Anna Veterans’ Home in far southern Illinois claim they received poor evaluations and were targets of harassment after filing complaints against the facility’s acting director, Patricia Simms, who is named as a defendant with Duckworth.” (Monique Garcia and Duaa Eldeib, “Walsh, Duckworth Skirmish Over Lawsuit,” Chicago Tribune, 10/11/12)
- "The employees filed complaints alleging mistreatment and abuse of veterans at IDVA facilities during Duckworth’s tenure." (Tom Schuba, "VA Whistleblowers Accuse Duckworth Of Ignoring Veteran Abuse, Corruption," NBC Chicago, 3/7/16)
In two days, the 7:45 AM – 9:00 AM Tammy for Illinois fundraising breakfast featuring special guest Harry Reid will take place at Johnny’s Half Shell in Washington, DC:
- "There is no indication that Duckworth will attend Thursday’s hearing. She will instead be in Washington, D.C. that day to attend a fundraiser hosted by Nevada Sen. Harry Reid." (Tom Schuba, "Kirk Ad Hits Duckworth on ‘Ethics Violations’," NBC Chicago, 5/9/16)
As the mandated sponsors of her legal defense, the Illinois taxpayer will be present at Thursday’s case hearing.
As a power hungry partisan, Tammy Duckworth will be courting the pocketbooks of lobbyists with Harry Reid in Washington, DC.
Will Duckworth’s attempt to excuse her absence include donating all proceeds from her $1,000-per-plate fundraising event to pay back Illinois taxpayers for picking up the tab for her whistleblower retaliation defense?
