Politico reports that Kirkpatrick is joining Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats for a confab of liberal Hollywood elite in Santa Monica, CA:

  • Some of the biggest donors on the left are huddling behind closed doors with liberal politicians including Nancy Pelosi to strategize about electing Democrats and confirming Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland, but they’ll also discuss ways to use Hollywood to advance their causes. The occasion is the annual spring investment conference of the Democracy Alliance liberal donor club, which officially kicks off Sunday at the tony Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica, California….The agenda also shows plenty of electorally focused discussion, including a briefing on the Democratic congressional campaign efforts… as well as Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona, who is running for Senate, and Emily Cain, who is running for a Maine House seat.” (Kenneth P. Vogel, “Donors Seek To Harness Hollywood To Boost Liberal Causes,” Politico, 4/9/16)

Kirkpatrick, rarely seen in Arizona, has plenty of time for party bosses and secretive donors in California. But when Kirkpatrick is at home? Well, that’s when she runs away from voters.

Just another day in the life of Ann Kirkpatrick, a candidate so liberal and so committed to advancing the Obama agenda that she can’t name a single time she put Arizona before her party’s out-of-touch agenda.

  • “‘When you’re here in Arizona, you seem very moderate,’ he said. ‘When you go to D.C., you seem to be a little more liberal voting-wise. I want to know a few times you’ve gone against the grain, for the betterment of Arizona.’ Kirkpatrick didn’t answer with a specific example, but she said she puts her district first and has a lower vote-with-party score than many members.” (Rebekah Sanders, “Unusual Gosar, Kirkpatrick Partnership Continues,” Arizona Republic, 1/24/15)
