After announcing her candidacy a month ago and quickly completing the Full Patty, Democrat Patty Judge has gone missing.

Conceived and implemented by Washington handlers, the Judge campaign has been nearly silent since her announcement was leaked to the New York Times. Except for a quick meeting with Harry Reid and a huddle at Democrat headquarters in Washington, Judge has been virtually invisible on the campaign trail.

Those who remember Judge’s tenure as Agriculture Secretary would hardly be surprised by her chronic absenteeism. Judge was cited by the State Auditor for failing to attend a single Economic Development Board meeting in 2003.

Considering Iowa Democrats have called Judge’s candidacy “heavy-handed and unwelcome intervention from Washington,” it’s hardly a surprise that she would rather avoid talking to voters. But at some point, someone is going to have to ask the question: Where is Patty Judge?
