The NRSC released a new digital ad today highlighting how Crooked Ken Paxton is making excuses from his vacation in Europe while Senator John Cornyn fights to hold Texas Democrats accountable for trying to obstruct flood relief and redistricting efforts supported by President Trump and Governor Greg Abbott. Earlier this week, Cornyn urged the FBI to make federal law enforcement available to arrest the AWOL Democrats if they won’t return to fulfill their constitutional obligations. President Trump said the FBI “may have to” bring them back if the Democrats won’t return.
“While John Cornyn is laser-focused on taking action and holding these fleeing Texas Democrats accountable, Ken Paxton is distracted and undermining Governor Abbott and President Trump’s efforts to do their jobs,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “Paxton is already a threat to President Trump’s Senate Majority, but now his incompetence is threatening Trump’s efforts to protect the House Majority too.”
