WASHINGTON, D.C. — Earlier this week, Virginia Democrats Mark Warner and Tim Kaine rushed to attack the Trump administration for enforcing Title IX protections that keep males out of girls’ sports and spaces. But more than 20 hours after liberal protesters supporting their position resorted to racist attacks, both Senators remain silent.

Despite posting on social media about other issues since the news broke, neither Warner nor Kaine has condemned the racism coming from their own Party — even after the Democrat gubernatorial candidate finally bowed to political pressure and denounced the offensive sign. Warner is up for re-election in 2026.

“Mark Warner and Tim Kaine are cowards so terrified of upsetting their radical base in Virginia that they can’t even condemn overt racism against a Black woman,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “It’s disgusting—but sadly no surprise from Warner, who infamously flip-flopped to stand by blackface Governor Ralph Northam six years ago.”
