WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is bringing his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour to Maine today to campaign with Graham Platner in Portland, ME. This isn’t Platner’s only radical friend, he has been dubbed the “Maine Mamdani” for his ties to New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“No matter which party is in power, Susan Collins has a proven record of putting Mainers first, by crafting legislation to protect their Social Security and support small businesses,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “Graham Platner, on the other hand, is spending his time cozying up to Bernie Sanders and championing his radical, anti-Israel agenda.”
Graham Platner and Bernie Sanders are united in their effort to push their anti-Israel agenda:
- Platner said that he would have supported Bernie Sanders’ bill to block American aid to Israel.
- Platner was voted “Most Likely to Start a Revolution” in high school, holding a piece of paper that said “Free” Palestine, among other countries.
- Platner said that he will never get American-Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) endorsement, that he refuses to take campaign cash from the “billionaires” who fund the Jewish group, and called Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists “a genocide.”
- Platner donated to Ilhan Omar’s campaign despite Omar’s history of incendiary, antisemitic language, belittling Jewish students as “pro-genocide,” and calling Israel’s self-defense “an act of terrorism.”
