While every fake Independent in the Senate voted with Chuck Schumer today to shut down the government, Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) voted in favor of a clean government funding bill, standing with President Trump and Nebraska families. Senate Democrats’ partisan bill would have reversed the Working Family Tax Cuts, saddled taxpayers with hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending, eliminated a $50 billion rural hospital fund provided by the Working Family Tax Cuts, increased waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid, and forced taxpayers to fund benefits for illegal immigrants.
“Pete Ricketts is standing with President Trump to ensure hard-working Nebraska families receive big wins from the Working Family Tax Cuts like no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, secure borders, and safer communities,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “All the fake Independents in the Senate that Dan Osborn is trying to model voted with radical leftist Chuck Schumer to shut down the government, slash funding for rural hospitals, force American taxpayers to fund illegal immigrants’ government benefits, and reverse the Working Family Tax Cuts. Nebraska families know they have a champion in Pete Ricketts and will reject Democrat in Disguise Dan Osborn again in 2026.”
