Letter: No one else can fill Susan Collins’ shoes

As a business owner in Maine, I want to express my strong support for Sen. Susan Collins in the upcoming election. Collins has served our state for years, consistently delivering support and federal resources that benefit Maine tremendously.

Her seniority in Washington, including her role as chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, gives Maine critical influence over federal funding decisions. This is a tremendous advantage for a small state like ours. She has helped keep Bath Iron Works strong, championed growth at the University of Maine, and supported businesses like ours across the state.

Importantly, Collins is the only Republican serving in Congress from all of New England. Regardless of one’s party affiliation, losing that voice would weaken our region’s ability to shape national policy.

She is also known for working tirelessly on behalf of Mainers across a wide range of issues. Replacing her with a first-term senator would mean losing institutional knowledge, leadership, and influence that Maine cannot afford to give up.

To put it plainly, there is no opponent who can fill Collins’ shoes. Her record, experience, and dedication speak for themselves. Maine needs her to remain in the Senate.
