Today, the Senate is expected to vote on funding the federal government. Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) already voted to shut down the government in the U.S. House, and there’s no doubt Craig would vote with Chuck Schumer if elected to the Senate.
“In the past, Angie Craig said government shutdowns put ‘critical services that millions of American families rely on at risk,’ but now she’s supporting a government shutdown that would put law enforcement lives on the line, threaten vital healthcare and housing programs for veterans, and allow funding for a critical Medicare patients’ treatment program to expire,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “As Chuck Schumer’s preferred candidate, there’s no doubt Craig would continue to vote with him to shut down the government if Minnesotans send her to the Senate.”
Background:
- Craig hypocritically lashed out at Republicans in 2018 over government funding for “putting politics above people” and “putting the critical services that millions of American families rely on at risk.”
