WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new ad today slamming Ken Paxton for using taxpayer dollars to fund liberal groups that provide “gender-affirming” LGBTQ resources to students.

“It should have never happened in a state like Texas, but Ken Paxton’s incompetence forces Texas parents to unknowingly foot the bill for radical transgender propaganda in their kids’ classrooms,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “Texans deserve a senator who protects children, not one like Paxton who signed off on your tax dollars funding the woke left.”

Ken Paxton is forcing taxpayers to pay for transgender resources:

  • The Texas Office of the Attorney General has full discretion over grant funds.
  • Paxton doled out 135 grants, worth nearly $1,000,000, to the Montrose Center, a group that provides “gender-affirming” LGBTQ resources and programming for children as young as seven.
    • The Montrose Center hosts workshops for school teachers to support “gender diverse youth” in various “school settings” and “Creating Safe Spaces” for transgenders in schools.
    • The same group received millions of dollars from the Biden administration.
  • Paxton also dropped a lawsuit against a doctor accused of performing transgender surgeries on minors.

Transcript:

Child Voice Over: “Silly Ken Paxton says he is fighting the woke left. But guess what! He’s actually helping them.

“He gave almost a million dollars in grants to groups pushing gender-affirming programs for kids as young as seven. Kids like me!

“The groups even trained my teachers to affirm gender transitions in school. All paid for by you.”

Adult Voice Over: “The Texas taxpayers.

“Ken Paxton didn’t stop the woke left, he opened the door and let them in.

“Texas deserves leaders who protect our kids, not fund the woke left.”
