Graham Platner has had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week that is ending with his Political Director sending her resignation letter exclusively to the Bangor Daily News.
Outlet after outlet has reported abhorrent and downright disgusting comments Platner previously posted on Reddit under the handle P-Hustle, including:
- Admitting “I got older and became a communist“
- Dismissing “all” police as bastards
- Saying rural White Americans “actually are” racist and stupid
- Writing that if people “expect to fight fascism without a good semi-automatic rifle, they ought to do some reading of history”
- Downplayed rape commenting, “If you’re so worried about it to buy Kevlar underwear you’d think you might not get blacked out f—-d up around people you aren’t comfortable with”
- Asking why Black people “don’t tip”
“Graham Platner is having a no good, very bad week as his comments admitting to being a communist, promoting political violence, encouraging racism, and downplaying rape come to light,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “He was a grown man who knew what he was saying and clearly just hoped no one would care.”
