The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new digital ad today slamming Peggy Flanagan (D-MN) and Angie Craig (D-MN) for fighting for free healthcare for illegal immigrants over feeding Minnesota kids. Schumer’s Shutdown is threatening to make over 450,000 Minnesotans and over 170,000 kids who rely on SNAP assistance go hungry starting this Halloween weekend.
“Transgender crusader Peggy Flanagan and Chuck Schumer’s preferred candidate Angie Craig care more about giving free healthcare to illegal immigrants than feeding Minnesota families,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “Now, over 170,000 kids in Minnesota will go hungry because of their messy race to the left.”

- On October 10, 2025, the Department of Agriculture sent a letter to state agencies advising state processors to “hold their November issuance files and delay transmission to State EBT vendors until further notice.” The letter stated that there were only enough funds to keep the SNAP program going through October 2025.
- Peggy Flanagan said “Democrats in Congress can’t back down” on keeping the government shut down.
- Craig already voted to shut down the government in the U.S. House, and there’s no doubt Craig would vote with Chuck Schumer if elected to the Senate.
