WASHINGTON, D.C. — After Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan joined Senate Republicans to clear a procedural hurdle to open the government, Chris Pappas still intends to put healthcare for illegals over the well-being of Granite Staters by voting against the funding package in the House of Representatives.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen told reporters last night, “When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, ‘Why can’t you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'”

“Chris Pappas just outed himself as a radical Democrat who will always put illegal aliens and his liberal base above Granite Staters,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “Both of New Hampshire’s Senators, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, did the right thing and are working to reopen the government. Pappas just made the best case yet for why voters shouldn’t give him a promotion.”
