Under Roy Cooper’s failed leadership, costs soared for working North CaroliniansBut thanks to President Trump and Republicans in Congress, relief at the pump is being delivered for North Carolina families in time for Thanksgiving.

Under Roy Cooper and Joe Biden, “the state average exceeded $3 per gallon during Thanksgiving between 2021 and 2023.” This year, drivers across North Carolina are filling up as low as $2.58 per gallon.

“Roy Cooper raised the gas tax as governor and stood by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inflationary policies. North Carolinians hitting the road this week can thank President Trump and Republicans in Congress for delivering relief where Cooper failed,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.

Cooper supported the largest middle-class tax hike in history and opposes President Trump’s Working Family Tax Cuts that provide no taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security.

Under Cooper’s failed leadership, the cost of living for families INCREASED:.

The median home price in North Carolina increased by nearly $230,000.

The average North Carolina household spent over $31,000 more.

Families spent over $3,500 more on food.

Families spent over $4,400 more on energy.

Families spent over $9,700 more on transportation.
