WASHINGTON, D.C. — This weekend, Ken Paxton is scheduled to speak at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona, as the organization celebrates and honors the life and legacy of founder Charlie Kirk. The remarks come following Paxton’s personal lawyer and “longtime consigliere” saying he wanted to defend Charlie Kirk’s assassin in court.
In a video, Paxton’s Trump-hating Democrat lawyer, Dan Cogdell, says, “I’d defend him [Charlie Kirk’s assassin] all day long,” and goes on to say, “I’d defend him in a second.”
“Dan Cogdell is a Trump-hating Democrat who would defend Charlie Kirk’s killer in court, yet Ken Paxton has refused to disavow him or his comments about Kirk’s murderer,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez.
