Today is the one year anniversary of President Trump signing the Laken Riley Act into law, with John Cornyn’s support in the Senate. Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student who was brutally murdered in Georgia by a criminal from Venezuela who had entered the country illegally under Joe Biden.

Republicans in Congress championed the Laken Riley Act to help ensure tragedies like Laken’s murder never happen again. But Democrats including Jasmine Crockett voted against the common-sense measure in the House of Representatives.

“President Trump and John Cornyn are working to ensure tragedies like Laken Riley’s never happen again,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “If Jasmine Crockett or James Talarico were in the Senate, they would vote in lockstep with the radical Democrat agenda that puts criminal illegal aliens above keeping Texans safe.”
