In her 2008 endorsement, then-Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto expressed her eagerness to work with Barack Obama:
"It is now time for the Democratic Party to unite behind one candidate…I look forward to working with Senator Obama to create positive change for the citizens of Nevada and the United States."
Nearly eight years later, however, it’s clear Cortez Masto misspelled ‘with’.
From ObamaCare to the Iran deal, Cortez Masto has worked for Barack Obama by advancing the failed legacy he seeks to spotlight during his final State of the Union address.
Ahead of tonight’s address, check out Cortez Masto’s worst hits during her loyal service for the administration she twice deemed "fantastic."
FLASHBACK:
In March 2010, Cortez Masto Declined To Join A Lawsuit Suing The Federal Government Over ObamaCare.
“Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said Tuesday she will not join a lawsuit suing the federal government over the recently enacted health care bill. Nevada’s Republican governor, Jim Gibbons, has been hammering Masto to join 14 other attorneys general — mostly his fellow Republicans — and sue over an element of the health care law what will require Americans to have medical insurance or face financial penalties.” (Chris Rizo, “Nevada AG Resists Calls To File Health Care Lawsuit,” Legal Newsline, 3/30/10)
In August 2012, Cortez Masto Voted To Approve A $72 Million Contract With Xerox State Healthcare To Implement A Health Insurance Exchange In Nevada Under ObamaCare.
“A state board approved a $72 million contract Tuesday to implement a health insurance exchange in Nevada under the federal Affordable Care Act, but Gov. Brian Sandoval said the program will need to become self-sustaining if it is to continue. The contract approved by the Board of Examiners is with Xerox State Healthcare to set up the computer system and operations needed to begin enrolling people by October 2013. Startup costs are being funded through federal grants. So far, Nevada has received $25 million and state officials are awaiting approval, expected in the next few days, on another $50 million. Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and Secretary of State Ross Miller, the other two members of board, joined Sandoval in approving the contract. The contract would run through 2016, but programs are supposed to be self-funded after 2014 and the state would assume all operational costs on Jan. 1, 2015.” (Sandra Chereb, “Board OKs $72M To Set Up Nevada Insurance Exchange,” Associated Press, 8/14/12)
VIDEO: In September 2015, Cortez Masto Said She Would Have Voted For ObamaCare And Opposed Legislation To Repeal ObamaCare.
RALSTON: Let’s talk about healthcare some more. If you had been in the U.S. Senate — I hate to give you a hypothetical but, you know, Joe Heck took votes. I want to know how you would have voted. Would you have voted for the Affordable Care Act? MASTO: Yes, because I think you need to start somewhere…and again, it goes back to this issue of no, it shouldn’t be repealed…" (KLVX’s, "Ralston Live," 9/14/15)
In January 2016, Cortez Masto Was In Step With President Obama’s Executive Action On Guns And Touted His Proposal As "Necessary."
"Like many other gun owners, I believe that failure to take action to reduce gun violence is yet another issue where Washington is letting down Nevada families. Background checks are a common sense proposal to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. I would have preferred for Congress to pass bipartisan background checks legislation. But instead, Congress continues to let partisanship, dysfunction, and gridlock win out over common sense proposals to save lives. As Attorney General, I worked with Republicans and Democrats to solve problems and keep our communities safe. It’s time for politicians in Washington to do the same and pass legislation to reduce gun violence. Until that happens, the President’s proposal is necessary to save lives and prevent criminals from obtaining weapons." (Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate, 1/5/16)
Cortez Masto Stood With Obama Over The American People By Supporting The Iran Nuclear Agreement.
“Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto has come out in favor of the nuclear agreement with Iran.” (“Senate Hopeful Cortez Masto Announces Support For Iran Deal,” Associated Press, 9/3/15)
