Senator Cory Booker — who opposes legislation requiring voter ID across the nation — claimed New Jersey “already” has voter ID.
Fact Check: False. New Jersey does not require photo identification to vote. In fact, the state does not require any document to vote.
“Cory Booker is either oblivious or he’s lying to defend a wildly unpopular opinion ahead of his potential presidential run. Either way, he certainly does not support voter ID and knows he’s out of step with the over 80% of Americans who do,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
