WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is calling for an investigation into Senate candidate Mary Peltola (D-AK) by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for using her House Committee as a personal slush fund. After Peltola was fired by Alaskans, the cash-strapped former member used her campaign committee to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on food and travel unrelated to any sort of campaign for office.
“Mary Peltola used her committee as a personal slush fund to splurge on D.C. hotels and restaurants while spending nothing on anything that would be conducive to a real campaign. Alaskans deserve transparency and Peltola must be held accountable,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
