At least $47 million in unemployment benefits fraud occurred under Roy Cooper’s watch.

Just like in Minnesota where Democrats ignored red flags, the Cooper Administration showed a “lack of urgency” to “fix the problem.”

Illegal aliens got in on the action too, with some of the $47.2 million in fraudulent unemployment benefits being paid to “ineligible recipient[s].”

“Once again, Roy Cooper screwed North Carolina taxpayers while illegal aliens reaped the benefits of his incompetency and far-left agenda,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia

Background

  • Ineligible recipients include “illegal alien[s]” who are “not in satisfactory immigration status under the laws administered by the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service,” according to North Carolina law (Article 2C of Chapter 96).
