WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today marks one year since Senate Republicans passed the Working Families Tax Cuts—without a single Democrat’s support—to allow hardworking Americans keep more of what they earned.

“Last year, Senate Democrats voted against the extra family vacation, the bigger paycheck, and the financial breathing room families need following years of crippling Biden-era inflation—and they’re promising unprecedented tax hikes if elected in November,” said NRSC National Press Secretary Bernadette Breslin.

In rejecting this historic legislation, Democrats voted to raise taxes on working families, seniors, and Americans who depend on tips and overtime.

By the Numbers:

  • Democrats support raising taxes on working families by $250 per month—up to $3,000 per year.

  • Democrats support raising taxes by more than $1,400 per year on American workers like waiters, hair stylists, and bartenders who depend on tips to pay the bills.

  • Democrats support imposing a $5 trillion tax hike on Americans.
