WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) launched a new digital ad today holding Roy Cooper accountable for prioritizing taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens over rural hospital funding.

Republicans passed legislation that slashes waste, fraud, and abuse in America’s healthcare system while investing billions in rural hospitals – and Cooper wants to repeal it.

“Under Cooper, North Carolinians paid the highest healthcare costs in the nation while illegals got taxpayer-funded benefits. Now Cooper wants to make life more unaffordable by repealing the largest investment in North Carolina’s rural healthcare system in history,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.

“9 rural North Carolina hospitals have closed since 2009.

“Yet, Democrats like Roy Cooper criticized efforts to secure hundreds of millions of dollars for rural hospitals.

“Roy Cooper and Democrats said no.

“No to rural hospitals.

“No to better healthcare access.

“No to North Carolina families.

“Instead, Roy Cooper would rather give free healthcare to illegal immigrants with your tax dollars.

“Illegal immigrants first, North Carolina last.”
