Welcome to Roy Cooper’s Worst of the Worst Wednesday.
Jaime Santiago Corona is a criminal illegal from Mexico who is charged with killing a six-year-old girl in a car crash in North Carolina. The deadly crash just happened on July 3rd.
Corona ran a stop sign and struck an SUV with a mother and her two daughters in it. The mother and her four-year-old were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. But Calli Toler was pronounced dead at the scene.

As Governor, Roy Cooper vetoed three different pieces of legislation requiring local sheriffs to cooperate with ICE—allowing criminal illegals like Corona to wreak havoc on North Carolinians.

Corona was arrested and charged with death by vehicle, failure to stop for a stop sign, careless and reckless driving, and driving while license is revoked. His criminal history includes convictions for driving under the influence and obstructing police.
Corona had been deported three times in 2019, 2023, and 2024 after illegally entering the United States at unknown dates and locations. He illegally entered the United States for a fourth time at an unknown date and location.
“Roy Cooper fought to protect monsters like Corona, and his sanctuary policies have made North Carolina less safe,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
