Abdul El-Sayed has a pattern of disrespecting and demoralizing women. In just the past week he has verbally attacked a female Republican staffer and Second Lady Usha Vance. Dem Congresswoman Hillary Scholten accused him of making “deeply sexist attacks” against female opponents.
But Abdul El-Sayed’s problems treating women aren’t new:
- Offered a former employee $7,000 for a “nondisparagement” agreement after the individual witnessed Abdul using “offensive language” when talking about Mallory McMorrow.
- Told an older female colleague he didn’t want to work with “anyone over 40.”
- Told Semafor that Haley Stevens was “a suit with a large AIPAC account” and that AIPAC should teach her “how to string together two coherent sentences.”
- Compared Gretchen Whitmer to property and having no ideas of her own, saying she was “bought and sold.”
- Dismissed Michelle Obama’s work with children, saying it was “uninspired” and “ineffectual.”
- Posted “So do we think JD is taking Usha with him back in time to meet Papaw, or no…”
- Made fun of a female aide saying that “Donald is gonna be so mad when Natalie shows him this clip…”
“Abdul El-Sayed clearly can’t help himself from disrespecting women and Michiganders should be concerned about how he would represent them in Washington,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
