Abdul El-Sayed is trying to rewrite history, lying to Michiganders about his family’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

But his sister is telling the truth, tweeting that their family “has long been” Muslim Brotherhood and that she had an “amazing” talk with her mom about her “activism in the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“Abdul has serious questions to answer as to why his mother was a part of the Muslim Brotherhood and wiring money to Al-Qaeda, why his sister-in-law was on the terrorist watch list, and about the extremists who are funding his campaign. Anyone with such elaborate ties to America’s enemies has no place in the U.S. Senate,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.

Abdul has serious questions to answer about his family’s ties to terrorist organizations:

  • His mother was wiring money to Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban in the years leading up to September 11, 2001.
  • His sister-in-law appeared on the terrorist watch list.
  • He received over $315,000 in Muslim Brotherhood-tied contributions to win his primary.
  • He accepted $115,000 from associates of CAIR, a designated terrorist organization, to his Senate campaign, including from their executive director who was “happy” about Hamas’s October 7th attack.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood celebrated his victory in the Democrat primary.
  • His father-in-law, Jukaku Tayeb, was the president of CAIR Michigan and a founder of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which was accused of having ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • Pledged his support for a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.
