Abdul El-Sayed was asked to condemn the Muslim Brotherhood and he refused, saying, “I haven’t seen you disavow them.”

But Abdul’s sister has posted multiple times on X that their family “has long been” Muslim Brotherhood and that she had an “amazing” talk with her mom about her “activism in the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“It should be easy to condemn designated terrorist organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood, but that seems to be really hard for Abdul. Every single Michigander should be alarmed about his continued refusal to condemn a terrorist group that has killed innocent Americans,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.

Abdul El-Sayed cannot stop pandering to designated terrorist organizations:

  • Abdul pledged his support for a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and called on him to “purge the media and police.”
  • His mother’s employer was wiring money to Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban, and Hamas in the years leading up to September 11, 2001.
  • His sister-in-law appeared on the terrorist watch list.
  • He received over $315,000 in Muslim Brotherhood-tied contributions to win his primary.
  • He accepted $115,000 from associates of CAIR, a designated terrorist organization, to his Senate campaign, including from their executive director who was “happy” about Hamas’s attack.
  • The Muslim Brotherhood celebrated his victory in the Democrat primary.
  • His father-in-law, Jukaku Tayeb, was the president of CAIR Michigan and a founder of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which was accused of having ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
