George Washington University’s Program on Extremism released a new report warning of CAIR’s campaign to influence our education system. CAIR is a an unindicted conspirator in the landmark Holy Land case and a designated terrorist organization in Florida, Texas, and the United Arab Emirates for its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
REMEMBER: Abdul El-Sayed is funded by CAIR and his father-in-law is the former president of CAIR Michigan.
A few of the highlights from the report:
- During a 2003 Senate hearing, Chuck Schumer said prominent members of
CAIR’s leadership had “intimate connections with Hamas.” - Five days after October 7th, CAIR Philadelphia published a ready-made letter for parents who wanted to challenge statements their children’s schools had issued in support of Israel. The letter encouraged parents to describe Israel as an “apartheid state,” Gaza as an “open-air prison,” and Israeli conduct as “war crimes.”
- CAIR’s guide dates the “occupation” to 1948, the year Israel was established and says that the creation of Israel itself is an occupation that must end.
- In a 2022 joint statement with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and National Students for Justice in Palestine, two virulently anti-Israel organizations, CAIR said that “for the Palestinian community,” Zionism was the political ideology that had enabled “violent subjugation and systematic dispossession.”
- CAIR was providing legal support and public legitimacy to an education network no longer arguing only over Israeli policy, Gaza, or the conduct of a particular government, but Zionism.
- In September 2022, CAIR New Jersey and Teaching While Muslim introduced curriculum for teaching the September 11th attacks that emphasizes that Islam does not advocate for violence, tells students that September 11th was “directly influenced by U.S. foreign policy,” and includes the complete text of Osama bin Laden’s “Letter to America” in its resource list.
“There is no question that CAIR is an extremist group and it should alarm every single Michigander that Abdul El-Sayed’s entire campaign is bankrolled by them. Abdul must answer for his biggest supporters’ un-American extremism and whitewashing of 9/11,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
