The DSCC’s flailing recruitment efforts in North Carolina suffered yet another failure today when Democratic State Senator Josh Stein chose not to run for the United States Senate against Senator Richard Burr.

Apparently, Senator Stein must have missed the DSCC’s desperate memo on North Carolina yesterday…

For those of you keeping track at home, this is the fourth Democratic candidate to take a pass on this race.

The DSCC recently failed to recruit Kay Hagan to run against Burr, State Treasurer Janet Cowell has opted to run for reelection instead of for the U.S. Senate, and Anthony Foxx is openly laughing out loud at the proposition these days.

It’s been a rough cycle for the DSCC when it comes to recruiting and today is yet another sign of their continued failure.

Another potential Democratic challenger to North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr is saying no to a bid to unseat the Republican next year.

Democratic state Sen. Josh Stein of Raleigh said Tuesday he’s not running for the U.S. Senate.

Stein told The Associated Press in a short interview says some people have been talking to him about the idea in the wake of former US Sen. Kay Hagan’s decision against trying to return to the Senate. Stein says he has other plans for 2016 that he’ll be talking about shortly.

Stein has been considering a potential run for attorney general.

National Democrats are looking to recruit someone to challenge Burr. State Treasurer Janet Cowell also has reaffirmed her plans to run for her current job again in 2016.
