If Minnesotans had any question about what type of agenda Senator Tina Smith plans to support, they need to look no further than her scheduled appearance today with ultra-progressive Keith Ellison.
Smith’s decision to partner with Ellison for one of her first public appearances should raise serious concerns about how she plans to represent Minnesota voters. While serving as a Member of Congress, Ellison was a “left-winger’s left-winger” and tied for the most liberal congressman in 2013, 2011, and 2008. Not to mention, Ellison made headlines this week when he endorsed Antifa’s handbook. Antifa, a left-wing group, which the Department of Homeland Security says is responsible for “domestic terrorist violence,” is so extreme, even progressive Nancy Pelosi condemned the “violent actions of people calling themselves Antifa.” Smith’s actions make it clear that she intends to adopt a radical agenda, and that’s bad news for hardworking Minnesotans.
“Tina Smith’s decision to give a platform to Keith Ellison and his far-left views proves she’s completely out of touch with Minnesota values,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Embracing Ellison may score points with national liberals, but it’s bound to damage Tina Smith’s electability with Minnesota voters.”
