Sherrod Brown is bringing his Democratic Party boss in Washington, New York Senator Chuck Schumer, back to Ohio for a fundraiser today. This is Schumer’s second time in Ohio to raise campaign cash for his favorite far-left Senator since February.
That Schumer is so eager to help Sherrod Brown should come as no surprise, as Senator Brown has been a loyal Democratic Party foot soldier, voting against President Trump’s agenda at every turn. Brown has stuck with Schumer through thick and thin, voting to filibuster Justice Gorsuch, against middle-class tax cuts and even to shut down the government. Odds are this won’t be Schumer’s last visit to Ohio before November, as he is desperate to keep Brown in his caucus, where he is always a reliable liberal vote.
“Chuck Schumer is pulling out all the stops to protect Sherrod Brown, who remains his loyal follower in the Senate,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Schumer knows he can always count on Brown to vote the liberal party line on everything from taxes to shutting down the government, so he’ll do whatever it takes to keep his good friend in Washington.”
