NRSC Weekly Rundown: GOP ads up in AZ, Trump takes a swing at Manchin, Heitkamp’s disastrous interviews and more!
And here’s this week’s edition of the NRSC Weekly Rundown:
#AZSen Ads: The NRSC launched Google search ads targeting Kyrsten Sinema for voting against the GOP tax relief plan. When Arizonans search terms like “how do I file my taxes,” they’ll be met with a reminder that Sinema doesn’t stand up for Arizona’s middle-class families.
National: New reports out this week touted the success of the GOP tax cuts. One report cited tax relief for revitalizing the auto industry, while others reported 2.9% economic growth and 241,000 new private sector jobs created in March.
#WVSen: While in West Virginia yesterday, President Trump bashed Joe Manchin for consistently opposing his agenda on everything from tax cuts to immigration. Just hours earlier, Manchin released a statement attacking the President. Not a wise decision for a Democrat representing a state President Trump carried by 42 points.
#NDSen: In an interview this week, Heidi Heitkamp said she didn’t regret voting against the GOP tax cuts that have been giving hardworking North Dakotans bonuses and pay raises. In another bad interview, Heitkamp said she was on North Dakota’s side. But, #HighFiveHeidi’s record shows she’s sided with Washington liberals when it matters most, voting against tax cuts, refusing to crack down on sanctuary cities and voting against a five-month abortion ban.
#MISen: The tax relief plan Debbie Stabenow voted against is revitalizing the Motor City. Both GM and Fiat Chrysler’s sales grew in 2018 by 16 and 14 percent respectively. Now that auto sales are skyrocketing, will Stabenow finally admit she was wrong to vote against tax relief?
#NJSen: This week marked the third anniversary of disgraced Senator Bob Menendez’s indictment for federal bribery charges. Menendez launched his first campaign ad in which he desperately attempts to portray himself as a man of the people. But, no ad will be able to distract New Jerseyans from his criminal past.
