What do you do when your platform is a total dud and becomes instantly forgotten? If you’re Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, you just wait a few months to reboot and try again!

This time around, Democrats are completely abandoning the economic issues that were the focus of their previous attempt at a platform. As unemployment approaches a record low, confidence in the job market hits a record high and the economy surges on the back of the GOP tax cuts, Democrats have instead opted to bow to their left flank. In response to their increasingly hostile base, Democrats’ “A Better Deal” platform has now been turned to focus on “corruption,” the impeachment talk being pushed by the far left and attacking President Trump.

Sounds like a great message for Senate Democrats who are defending seats in 10 states won by the President in 2016!

In a hilarious bit of irony, Democrats appear to have forgotten about the ethical lapses in their own camp. One of the Democrats’ proposals would have ensured that one of their vulnerable 2018 candidates, disgraced Senator Bob Menendez, wouldn’t have been able to avoid prison time had it been enacted before his bribery trial.

“While the American people are focused on the booming economy thanks to President Trump and Republicans, Senate Democrats are instead flirting with impeachment talk, and are being pushed further and further left by their out-of-touch ‘resistance’ base,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “If Senate Dems think avoiding the issues American families care about to appease the far left is a winning strategy, they are in for a rough election night.”
