Sherrod Brown is trying to have it both ways on the Supreme Court.
After coming under fire from his opponent, Republican Jim Renacci, as well as Vice President Mike Pence for playing politics with Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, Brown finally relented and met with the judge late yesterday. But while taking advantage of the photo-op, Brown signaled to liberals that he’s still planning on joining his #resistance colleagues in opposing Judge Kavanaugh, sending a press release expressing “serious concerns” about the indisputably qualified jurist.
“It’s going to take more than a photo-op to fool Ohioans into believing that Sherrod Brown is giving Judge Brett Kavanaugh the fair consideration he deserves,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “As Vice President Pence said – if Sherrod Brown won’t vote to confirm a judge like Brett Kavanaugh, Ohio voters are going to replace him with someone who will.”
