With her campaign taking heat from Missourians after announcing that she would oppose Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, Claire McCaskill is desperate to cozy up to President Trump, even going so far as to feature a picture of her sitting next to the President in her new TV ad.

But as usual, Claire is full of it. A look at McCaskill’s record shows she is far from an independent, voting with her party 83% of the time since coming to Washington and against President Trump’s agenda 65% of the time. Oh, and that picture? It’s actually from a meeting at the White House where McCaskill rejected President Trump’s invitation to work across the aisle on his tax cuts.

“If Claire McCaskill wanted to tout her ‘bipartisan record’ in her TV ads, she shouldn’t have spent the past two years reflexively opposing President Trump and his agenda,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “McCaskill is a partisan Democrat and Missouri voters can see right through her phony claims of independence.”
