Bill Nelson didn’t bother to show up for work, again. Today, he skipped out on a hearing for the Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation where he serves as Ranking Democrat to try and save his taxpayer-funded job.
The topic? Broadband internet challenges in rural America, an issue facing a large swath of voters, but Bill just didn’t think it was important enough to show up.
Typical behavior for Nelson, who pretends to care about critical issues, like toxic algae but skips out of hearings.
This only adds to Bill Nelson’s already poor attendance record. Just this week, The Tampa Bay Times noted he missed more votes than any other vulnerable Democrat and he’s also missed 45% of Senate hearings on national security, including hearings on ISIS, Russia and North Korea.
“Bill Nelson is back at it again, pretending to care about critical issues facing Floridians but not actually putting in the work to find any solutions,” said Camille Gallo, NRSC Spokesperson. “Floridians deserve a Senator who will work tirelessly for them, instead of a phony politician, like Bill Nelson.”
