Senate Democrats have made it clear they are ready to go to the extreme to block Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Debbie Stabenow said just months ago that it is “one of the most important constitutional duties” as a U.S. Senator to confirm Justices to the Supreme Court, but now she is changing her tune.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is releasing its first Michigan television ad of the 2018 Cycle titled “Constitutional Duties” to remind voters of Stabenow’s past statements that the Senate has an obligation to vote for nominees to the Supreme Court. This is the first paid effort by the NRSC in Michigan for the 2018 cycle and is part of an aggressive national paid media campaign targeting Senate Democrats in states President Trump won.

“It’s a shame that Debbie Stabenow and her fellow Washington liberals can’t put their partisan political games aside to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Stabenow said that her duty under the Constitution is to confirm Justices but now we can see she will only follow through with her constitutional duties if a Democrat is in the White House.”
