Washington, D.C. – During Tuesday’s virtual forum, the Wisconsin Democrat candidates for U.S. Senate all agreed on one thing: abolish the filibuster so Democrats can jam through a radical agenda out of step with Wisconsinites.
It is not shocking that all 5 declared candidates continue to tack hard to the Left, especially on the issue of the filibuster. Earlier this year, Politico called “killing the filibuster [the] new ‘litmus test’ for Democratic candidates.” This radical move would pave the way for Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, socialist Bernie Sanders, and other Washington Democrats to enact the most liberal legislative agenda in history.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “As they seek a promotion, Wisconsin Democrats are quickly caving to Washington Liberals. They are so desperate to appease their Washington bosses – Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders – that they will undermine the checks and balances of American democracy in order to jam through a radical agenda. Abolishing the filibuster is a blatant power grab and Wisconsin voters know it.”
