A six-figure bailout for Mr. Clean buys much more than TV time – it apparently buys the blind support of Senator Russ Feingold.

Hours after Hillary Clinton had to swoop in to try to save the vanity project that is his eighth campaign for political office – and hours after the FBI decided to reopen its investigation, Senator Feingold returned the favor by defending her. Again.

Wisconsin voters deserve to know: if the reopening of an FBI investigation doesn’t compel Senator Feingold to finally question Hillary Clinton’s trustworthiness, what can?

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Feingold, Nelson stick by Clinton"

Former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold stood by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Friday as the FBI disclosed it was making new inquiries related to her private email server during her time as secretary of state. Feingold has repeatedly called Clinton honest and trustworthy as he has run against Republican Sen. Ron Johnson for the seat Feingold lost in 2010. “Obviously, I don’t know what exactly this is or how extensive this is but I’m all for transparency,” Feingold told reporters in Milwaukee. “I do expect she’ll probably be the next president of the United States and I stand with what I said before. My encounters with her have been positive and situations where I could rely on her.”

The FBI needs to find out whether newly discovered emails connected to one of Hillary Clinton’s longtime aides contain classified information but she remains the best choice for president, Democrat Russ Feingold said Friday…He said Clinton not only understands the need for transparency but supports it.

Associated Press: "Feingold: Clinton understands transparency need"

Democrat Russ Feingold says he still supports Hillary Clinton even though the FBI is looking into whether there was classified information on a device belonging to the estranged husband of one of her closest aides. Feingold made the remarks to reporters during a visit to one of his campaign offices in Madison on Friday. Hours earlier the FBI announced it was looking into whether emails uncovered during a sexting investigation of former congressman Anthony Weiner contain classified information.

Senator Feingold – who is currently embroiled in a State Department email scandal of his own, is standing by what he said before about his new benefactor Hillary Clinton.
