When asked by a reporter over the weekend if he ever worked as a CPA in Florida, Murphy responded, “of course.”

Not so fast.
The bombshell CBS Miami investigation into Murphy’s professional life stated “Murphy never worked a day in his life as a CPA.”
And while Murphy tries to spin his assistant-level job and nine months as a Deloitte & Touche auditor as a lifetime worth of experience as a Certified Public Accountant, an NBC Orlando fact check finds that not only is Murphy not telling the truth – he’d actually be breaking Florida law:
"Under Florida law, to work as a ‘certified public accountant’ means you hold a license to practice public accounting in this state.” “The ad says ‘he never worked a day in his life as a CPA’ and the truth meter rings mostly true on that claim. Under Florida law, to work as a ‘certified public accountant’ means you hold a license to practice public accounting in this state. Murphy worked as an auditor at Deloitte in Miami and, nine months after getting his Colorado CPA license, he left the firm.” (WESH, 9/12/16)
If Murphy will lie about something simple – and easily fact-checked – as his own work history, he’s probably willing to lie to Florida families about pretty much anything.
