In the batch of emails released from Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta was an email exchange with Katie McGinty from July 17th, 2015 in which she asks for his advice while considering her U.S. Senate run. This email from McGinty occurred at 4:08PM on a Friday afternoon – clearly during business hours – and clearly political in nature, an activity barred by the Wolf Administration’s “Guidelines for Political Activity.”
The Wolf Administration has very clear rules about acceptable activity during business hours. The Administration’s Guidelines for Political Activity page notes that no one may, “Participate in political activity (such as campaigning, fundraising, canvassing or poll watching) during work hours.”
For more than a year, Shady Katie McGinty and the Wolf Administration have tried their very best not to comply with Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know law and have avoided releasing specific documents requested including McGinty’s schedule and e-mail correspondence. But last week, the Wolf Administration was ordered to release the requested documents from Katie McGinty’s tenure as the Governor’s Chief of Staff.
Pennsylvania voters deserve to know what Katie McGinty was really doing during her time in her taxpayer-funded job. This email exchange is just another data point to prove that Shady Katie has a long history of putting self-service before public service. McGinty and the Wolf Administration must release her emails before election day.
